I’m Geen! From Wolverhampton, now living and working between Stafford and Birmingham.

As an illustrator, storytelling is my biggest motivation. My deep obsession with folklore, history, and movies constantly feeds into my work. I love to inject whimsy and weirdness anywhere I can. I aim to encourage people to see things a bit differently.

My career so far has been running my own business for the past 12 years. I produced artwork, products and merchandise for my shop, Geeniejay, and sold in person and online all over the world. I began teaching part time, a few years ago, on the illustration course at Birmingham City University where I get to explore creativity and have fun with lots of other creatives (but serious fun). In 2023, I was diagnosed with ADHD and allowed myself to make some changes and work towards what I knew I always wanted, which was to make stories.

Currently, I’m focusing on my first love of narrative illustration, and growing my children’s literature portfolio. For the past year, I have been developing my first author/illustrator picture book, Percy Had an Idea.
